📣👏👏👏👏 Congratulations to @effuimaono.tenor (TANZOS 2023 Artist), who has been accepted into The Royal Opera’s Jette Parker Artist Programme in London - one of the world’s most prestigious opera residencies. Emmanuel is the first New Zealander to be offered an audition, let alone a position without having studied outside of New Zealand!

This follows another major achievement announced earlier this year, that Emmanuel will also join the Merola Opera Program in San Francisco this June!

Emmanuel's success is a testament to his own mahi and talent, starting his journey at @projectprimavolta in 2014, who saw his potential back then. A longtime @dame_malvina_major_foundation awardee, Emmanuel then studied at The University of Waikato, attended summer programmes at@nzoperaschool and was a Dame Malvina Major Foundation Studio Artist with @nz_opera. Finally, Emmanuel was an inaugural artist at @tepaekokakotanzos in 2023 before applying to the Jette Parker Artist Programme and @merolaopera.

📣Next week, TANZOS welcomes @ian.m.tindale, who will be working on Song Repertoire and mentoring our TANZOS Associate Répétiteur, @jonodunlopmusic

A graduate of Selwyn College, Cambridge, and the Royal College of Music (RCM) in London, Ian has held roles as Official Pianist at the Wigmore Hall Song Competition and Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels. Ian is also Artistic Director of Shipston Song, an annual song festival on which he founded in 2022. Ian is also a vocal repertoire and song coach at the RCM.

Forthcoming engagements include recitals at the Aldeburgh Festival with Nick Pritchard and Ludlow English Song Weekend with Bethany Horak-Hallett and Dan D’Souza, and a much-anticipated return to Salle Bourgie in Montréal with Julien Van Mellaerts and Harriet Burns as part of the hall’s complete Schubert series.
